It’s official.
It’s Just Riding: Just Pete from Sea to Key will be released September 1.
And I couldn’t have picked a better date.
On September 1, 2021, after eighty-one days and 4,535 miles, I rolled into Key West and finished a cross-country bicycle ride that had started in Anacortes, Washington.
Exactly five years later, the story of that ride will finally be out in the world.
I started the journey having not ridden a bicycle in years and nowhere near prepared for what I was about to attempt.
What could possibly go wrong?
Turns out, quite a bit.
There were mountains, brutal heat, headwinds, numb hands, wrong turns, flat tires, and plenty of moments when continuing seemed like a questionable life choice.
But there were also friends, family, and complete strangers who showed up when I needed them most.
I thought I was riding across America.
It turned out I was really meeting America.
September 1, 2026.
Five years to the day after the ride ended, It’s Just Riding begins its next journey.
I can’t wait to finally share it with you.

I’m really looking forward to this next adventure Jeff 🚲🚲🚲.
Can’t wait to see how you “tell the real story” of your ride. don
As a real biker, you will realize I’m an idiot. But then again, you probably already know that. 😉
Looking like Santa Klaus. Congrats Pete!
